42% of people who download illegally ,download with the intention to buy.
Illegal downloaded hs helped the increase of niche market downloads this has helped more niche bands get a record label and break into the music industry.
The music industry is growing at the dispense of the record industry.
£1.4 billion spent on live gigs in 2009 alone.
Youtube means artists can freely promote there tracks.

Against
Its harder to get a record deal as companies are putting less money into the fading record industry.
Having your internet shut down for something that can be avoided.
Revenues dropped by 7% last year.
Artists arent getting enough money to support themselves

Digital Economy Bill

The digital economy bill which has lately became an act , is the governments trying to enforce the copyright protection in the music industry against infringement.Song are illegally downloaded through such websites as WWW.piratebay.com , the digital economy bill is a threat that if a set amount of ongs are illegally downloaded you will be tracked and if it exceeds a certain amount your internet will be slowed down drastically to prevent the user from even attempting , if it continues the bill would let the operator eg virgin/talk talk shut down there internet for that address

This bill has negatives as the government only trace the servers and not the computers therefore somebody pinching their neighbors internet can download illegally and have no consequences.

The internet has thousands of amateur blogs. Many of these blogs review films jsut like empire or total film magazine.
a website such as the internet movie database(IMDB) is owned by amazon and this website has vital statistics on the pre released moviie as the way through to increasing the hype of a new film.

Also many remade or low budgets recuts can be posted on youtube to raise awareness of the talent.

3.We are the beneficiary because we have the ability to download free music and stream free movies aswell as share our music online this gives smaller bands for trhe example the joy of free advertisement,the internet also lets the users have access to sho pping and ordering online , although we are the victims as its destroying our music industry as album sales are plummeting due to illegal downloading from websites such as limewire and piratebay.The internet is said to be bad for the human health as it makes the average human live a lazier life.
